I and the huge grizzly bear filed our tax return way back in February. We received the Federal Tax Return promptly within a week of filing.

However we are still waiting for our New York State Tax Return. When will it come!! When can we see our money!!!

Anyway, we were eating food and chicken wings, and we had a rather sudden curiosity:

Is the chicken wing White Meat or Dark Meat?

My opinion was that it is dark meat while the huge grizzly bear thought otherwise. Of course, we found the answer with a quick web search. We were both right!!

While technically wings are dark meat, modern breed to feed chickens do not use their wings much, they are now considered White Meat. Crazy, right?

Remember I talked about New Look For New Year. I finally finished (most) 2 months later than I had originally planned: I must’ve had some kind of brain malfunction to plan to finish this within 15 days!!!

I still need to finish about 30 sets (that’s about 300 ~ 400 buttons), but I’m not doing them now… probably not within a month or two, either. See I use a trackball mouse (index finger one), and about a month ago I started to notice this weird and awkward feeling (no, it’s not pain) on my right index finger knuckle joint when I exert a little force: like opening up a soda bottle, jars, etc. I hate using a mouse mouse (I do own quite a few thou), but I think I’m going back to it for a month to rest my over-used joint.

When it was finally finished a few days ago, I wasn’t really happy because I had to now change all the images on my button bistro web store along with other marketplaces: Etsy, Amazon, bonanzle and several others plus flickr.

Anyway, it’s all done, I’m happy, I feel so relived, and I can do some other weird & funky stuff I usually do   =)

So now why am I talking about grass is always greener on the other side?

Well… because this is how Mr. Sushi lives by!!

Now let’s see some examples.

1. Feeding time, Mr. Sashimi and Mr. Sushi get the same stuff equal amount. While Mr. Sashimi is happily eating from his own bowl, Mr. Sushi would sit right next or in front of Mr. Sashimi and watch him eating, leaving his own bowl full of yummy yummy stuff right next to him. Apparently, Mr. Sashimi doesn’t feel like eating meal is a spectator sport and only has a few bites and leaves. This is when Mr. Sushi takes over and eats up Mr. Sashimi’s food, AND THEN his. I tried to feed them separate locations with the same result. I told the huge grizzly bear there must be something Mr. Sushi goes nuts about in Mr. Sashimi’s saliva.
2. Mr. Sashimi is so comfortably dozing away on the cat tree. Mr. Sushi is walking around and sees him napping. He would go up to the tree and nudge Mr. Sashimi out, taking over the space. This would also happen with the their favorite nap box.

Still, they are very good with each other (maybe not the best buddies). I think they will be lost without each other (maybe depressed and lonely).

The news said Manhattan (Central Park) got about 9″ of snow. That’s about 23 cm. Here in suburb, we actually had more than 1 foot today (approx. 30cm).

All that snow was pushed, shovelled to the side of road by me and the huge grizzly bear!

As you can see, I use to take pictures of  buttons. It’s good but takes alot of time taking, cropping and editing the pictures. But that’s not the reason I stopped doing it. I needed to make the buttons in order to take pictures. No big deal except as my button offering got larger and larger, the inventory control became a huge problem. I didn’t (and still don’t) have a 1000 slot storage bin/container nor a space to put the bin.

So I made a transparent layer. I was happy with it and thought it looked good. I visited alot of places that sell buttons and mine looked as good as theirs. As time goes by, however, I felt that the buttons looked somewhat flat. Plus, I started to dislike how my white background buttons looked like (they looked too fake-y to me).

So I made another transparent layer. This time more bubbly and 3-D like look, at least I think. I have been changing to the new look past 18 days (basically since the new year). I think I’m about 40% done now. This is very boring, mind numbing, tedious and possibly carpal tunnel syndrome inducing process (got that tingling sensation). The plan was to finish it by now, but obvious it’s impossible. I think I’m going to go little slow and push back the dead line to early February.

The Button Bistro Staff Wish You The Best of The Best in 2010!!

Bear in mind that he owns several pieces of nice wrist watch, but none of them he would consider his daily-wear favorites. We were gonna fix the watch then found that with the repair cost, he could buy a low end model of Invicta watch, a big one that is. So he decided to put the repair on hold and purchase one.

My my, did I say big one? This thing is so huge, I said it’s a wrist clock, a wrist weapon you could almost whack someone with. I think he purchased that one to see if that big size was good on him. Because apparently he liked the size so much, in a month he purchased one more: this time one of Invicta’s highest end models.

What’s crazier here is that I like it too. I’m somewhat of men’s watch freak (I have no interest what so ever in tiny women’s watches at all: been wearing one of his for a long long time).
